You did it!!!!

Time to celebrate! You all made it through and no one died. In fact, I'm super impressed by the results I've seen. A lot of you have completely transformed your life and bodies. As you can see, there is no magic pill or solution. It takes pure dedication and a whole new way of living. I hope you will find this new lifestyle a way of elevating yourself. Always use this method as a road map back to good health when things get crazy in life. So very proud of everyone! I'll see y'all tonight at 6:30pm Bear's Den. Bring your calendars and journals. Can organic farming really feed the world?

http://www.independent.co.uk/environment/organic-farming-can-feed-the-world-if-done-right-scientists-claim-9913651.html

What once was thought of as ideology, scientists are now researching and coming up with strong evidence organic farming could really change the world. It could even address major issues like climate change.

Professor John Reganold of Washington State University – goes on, “organic food and beverages” are now “a rapidly growing market segment in the global food industry”. Worldwide sales increased fivefold to US $72bn (£50bn) between 1999 and 2013, and are expected to double again by 2018. The practice is certified in 170 countries and the current US Agriculture Secretary, Tom Vilsack, describes it as “one of the fastest growing segments of American agriculture” driven by “growing consumer demand.”

"But it is climate change that may give organic farming the edge. As the new research underlines, “organically managed farms have frequently been shown to produce higher yields than their conventional counterparts” during droughts, because the manures they use retain moisture in the soil. And severely dry conditions “are expected to increase with climate change in many areas”."

More pancakes!

Another great healthy clean pancake recipe! Great for carb loading after an intense Saturday or Sunday morning WOD.

Factors that influence food choices and how much control do we really have?

Please take some time to read the above article I found on the CrossFit Kids site. This is great insight to what is going on in our economy and how it markets and targets cheap palatable foods. Read up on the research on how this negatively affects our health.

Check out this article about ultra processed food making up more than half of all calories in US diet. Based on research,  90% of these calories contain added sugars contributing to epidemic obesity rates and diabetes.

Eating from scratch and nature help us simplify our diet. Don't be fast, cheap, or easy. Remember, you are what you eat!

DIY Night tomorrow!

If you guys could bring some extra glass mason jars, bottles, and spray bottles that would be awesome! I want to make sure everyone has something to make! Also, if you have recently ordered an oil kit, bring it! Learn how to experiment and experience your essential oils.

Cinnamon

Cinnamon is a staple spice at my house! I put in my coffee and cook and bake with it all the time. Did you know cinnamon oil has even more benefits? It's a lot more potent and lots of medicinal properties too. It's very helpful in regulating blood sugar. It's a powerful antioxidant and helps support a healthy immune system. Cinnamon oil is also an aphrodisiac that can be diluted and mixed with fractionated coconut oil for a pleasant warm massage.

Healthy quick recipe to try!

2 sliced apples
1 tbsp coconut oil
1 drop doTERRA cinnamon oil
A few dashes of cinnamon spice
Sauté in pan on med-low heat until it smells amazing and apples are soft. Enjoy!

Eat ALL the grapefruit!

Did you know grapefruit does amazing things for your body inside and out? Grapefruit contains natural enzymes that work with your bodies digestive system and metabolism. Half a grapefruit with breakfast in the morning is a great way to start your day and ramp metabolism.

Grapefruit essential oil can be used to infuse water. Just like lemons, it acts as a natural detox for the body. It can also be used in natural cleaners and face products, such cleansers and exfoliants. Grapefruit has a clean uplifting smell to help brighten your day!

Next Tuesday night is our DIY night. This might be something you would want to create your own natural recipe for your home or body🌿🍊🍋.

The most important meal of the day!

Breakfast is my favorite! I could eat breakfast for every meal. I hope everyone is enjoying FarmHouse Delivery. The grapefruits that came in the large bushels are amazing!

Also, thank you so much to everyone that came to the skin clinic last night! It was a hit! Everyone left with a special gift to experience. I will post some made recipes from the skin line I created.

Next week will be DIY night back at Body Armor, Tuesday at 6:30pm. We should have our t-shirts and tanks by then.

Skin clinic tomorrow night! Bring friends!

Healthy food is beautiful.

Find or forage for foods that are visually appealing. Use your senses to gauge your appetite. The further away from sugar you get, the easier it is to tune into yourself.

Relax... and breath

After a long day, sometimes I just need some space and time to breath and calm my mind.  doTERRA Serenity blend has an amazing soothing and comforting smell. It brings on a calm state of mind for me to wind down and sleep.  It's great to have night time rituals so you create a path to shutting down. It can be difficult trying to get 7-9 of sleep if you don't set your routine up for it.

Balance

Life gets crazy. Our jobs, family, friends, and stress can pull us a million directions at once. I use aromatherapy to help me relax and get grounded. doTERRA essential oil Balance blend is great for diffusing or applying topically to bring on a sense of tranquility. Our sense of smell is powerful. Essential oils have the ability to change our brain chemistry through our olfactory system.

During this Whole30, I challenge everyone to introduce a new method or ritual to help relieve stress and stay grounded throughout the day. When life gets chaotic, take some moments to regain control and know that you've got this!

It Starts With Food

Authors Dallas and Melissa Hartwig's first book, 'It Starts With Food', gives us an inside look into the body and how food regulates body function. Understanding how food affects us mentally, emotionally, and hormonally will help you make better choices. It's important to know your own emotional triggers and addictions to food, as most of us have them, so we can break those ties. Food is fuel. You can enjoy your food, but it takes a concsious effort to appreciate the best quality nutrition. Change your mind, change your palette, change your body.

BACON...Yup, it's Whole30 approved!

Just in case there is any doubt, bacon is approved, unless you are vegan;)

Pederson sugar free bacon is the brand to look for. You can find it at HEB, where no store does more.  We are well connected to ensure it stays in stock!

Our challenge officially begins tomorrow. I hope everyone has been taking this time to go over Whole30.  Most importantly, that you all have set your kitchens up for success!

Some of you have asked what you are suppose to eat. Real Food! Take advantage of the FarmHouse Delivery services at 20% off bushels. They will be at our gym this Tuesday @6:30pm. Plan your meals around what comes in your bushels. That's what I did and it made life  easier. Plus, my kids got excited about what came in our bushels straight from the farm. Getting the little ones to have a hands on approach to food will make them more capable about making healthier choices as they grow up. Make cooking fun!  If you're strapped for time, check out Zedrics already prepared meals. There are discount coupons at Body Armor at the front desk.
